Re: TestString not working with Recurring/One-time adjustmen

Fixed this in the http://www.cfiresim.com/alpha/input.php version as of this post. TestString is in a new format as a result.

Edit: I jumped the gun. It was not fixed. Still working on it,

Testing New UI in Alpha Version

As of 7-18-2013 at 9pm EST, there is a brand new version located at http://www.cfiresim.com/alpha/input.php . Here are a list of test cases used and notes: >> Should be flat (yes): 0 spend; 0 inflation; 0 market growth; 0 fees YToyNzp7czo5OiJwb3J0Zm9saW8iO3M6NzoiMTAwMDAwMCI7czo4OiJzcGVuZGluZyI7czoxO...

Re: User Interface Mock-up

Am I double counting here? - Say you want to pay-off a mortgage in 10 years, and your amortization table tells you the remaining balance will be $50,000 at that time. I guess you do say a one-time 'spend' of $50,000 for 2018, non-inflation adjusted. But you ARE paying it with inflated money, but th...

Re: User Interface Mock-up

So, I'm going through initial simulation testing on the new UI(I haven't uploaded it to the site yet). I put in a pension, and I select "Inflation Adjusted" > "Constant %" > 10%. It has led me to an interesting question: Pretty much everything on the site is written in "Toda...

Re: User Interface Mock-up

Oh, another box input anomaly - If you are allowing decimal points and cents, the SS box only goes to $ 9999.99 or 7 digits w/o decimal (that's enough w/o cents). The other $ boxes seem unlimited. -ERD50 Got it. I fixed this in my local version. You know... neither of us has noticed the forest for ...

Re: User Interface Mock-up

OK. Just a few more cosmetic nits/tweaks I just noticed. You might want to look when you are in there. A) The "start year" boxes seem to have slightly different behaviors, and could probably all be shrunk closer to 4 digits wide (though allowing a few more digits and width probably helps ...

Re: User Interface Mock-up

Looks good, but I think you are right. How about this? I made "% of portfolio" p/o of the first pull down, and used / \ and \ / to outline the top/bottom of the pull down, the spaces were just to make it clearer here. (You need to keep the browser window fairly wide or the CODE box will w...

Re: User Interface Mock-up

So, I just finished working on the UI again: http://www.cfiresim.com/beta2/input.php . It's still not operational when you hit submit, but the cosmetic changes are there. The only hang-up I have right now is with the new "Adjust Spending:" options. So, if you select "Not Inflation Adj...

Re: User Interface Mock-up

I guess I'm confused on this one. OK, I looked again - yes I think it should be tweaked. The mutually exclusive functions are: A) Do not inflate spending at all. B) Increase initial spending by inflation (historical CPI). C) Increase initial spending by a Constant % (enter % in box). < If set to 0%...
