Re: User Interface Mock-up

That sure is a lot of w*rk for a retired guy! This looks nice. As for your questions: "Investigate Spending" completely ignores any spending input (it basically runs through a maximization algorithm, trying out different spending levels until it hits the portfolio number and % threshold). ...

Re: SUGGESTIONS: Graph formatting

OK, i didn't recall that you were using monthly data. But even so, my little calc-sheet, assuming full years, would show 113 cycles w/o going into 2013: 1 1871 1900 2 1872 1901 3 1873 1902 ........ 111 1981 2010 112 1982 2011 113 1983 2012 Am I doing that wrong? -ERD50 I'm not sure you're doing any...

Re: Test String is quirky [FIXED]

I think I'll print out where you are now, and think about it 'big picture'. We might be getting lost in details now, might be good to step back and think again about how these various entries should inter-act. Offhand, I don't think they should over-ride. I'm thinking that you enter some base spend...

Re: SUGGESTIONS: Graph formatting

I will say that as of now, I use 2013 as a data point. The way that firecalc (and cfiresim) calculates data is by comparing the prices/inflation/etc from the beginning of one year with the end of the next. So, for 2013, I just compare the beginning of the year with the "end", which is just...

Re: SUGGESTIONS: Graph formatting

I need to look into the FIRECALC issue you brought up. I know they say they have updated the data tables, but you are right, that doesn't mean the code is actually reading those tables. There may be some code changes needed to trigger that. I could ping the group there on that. -ERD50 No need to he...

Re: SUGGESTIONS: Graph formatting

Also, Investigate Portfolio Amount and Investigate Spending Level don't seem to jibe. For 100% success, it told me ~ $35,000 spending. So 3.5% WR makes sense. But when I use portfolio - it says $2M, which would be 2% WR. -ERD50 Hmm. I think you're right. That $2M value seems weird. I'll look into i...

Re: SUGGESTIONS: Graph formatting

Ha, all that blabbing about the differences between my data and firecalc's, and it turned out there was a "+1" involved in the Single Cycle Year calculation. Whoops.

The version in alpha should line up with Firecalc now.

Re: Cfiresim crashes mobile browser

Interesting. I haven't tried it recently on my android. Were you on android or iOS? Which browser specifically? Stock? I've noticed the speed too. I do know that it runs a lot slower if you enable Debug, but I'm not sure about the performance of other pages. If it's more than just me that notices it...

Re: Test String is quirky [FIXED]

Here's a mock up of what could be done, for spending or saving changes that vary over time, or AA changes (not shown here, but same concept). The first shows inflation adj savings increasing from $1,000 to $10,000 from years 2020 to 2029. The second shows inflation adjusted spending decreasing from...
